Medical volunteer & internship in Nepal

We are a Christian faith base volunteer mission in Nepal whose works are an expression of Christian love, compassion and evidence of God’s grace.  We are situated in the hill station, a town but most of our villages are in remote areas. In the rural areas, poor health conditions are seen as the high infant mortality rate. Health-care problems are varied and large in number. health-care facilities are generally difficulty and directly reflected the mode of life in Nepal. The majority of people lack easy access to hospital, because of the absence of such facilities in nearby locations and as well as due to the geography of the country's rugged terrain. Because there are very few means of transportation in rural areas, particularly in the hills and mountains, people have to walk on average about half a day to reach the health centers. Not only the geographical aspect is the main problem but also is the lack of

awareness, lack of health care education, Dental and oral hygiene and medical services. It has lead to much unnecessary suffering of lives here and it directly reflects the people of rural villages. Similarly, malnutrition and lack of safe drinking water are the chronic problem in the rural areas. Nepal's geographical limitations continued to play a large part in the country's social and economic problems and effects to the life of people. Volunteers interested in health care programs or if you are trained doctors, paramedics, nurses, and other community health workers, it would be great help to them if you share your skill and knowledge, by this means raising the awareness of health education, sanitation and environment in the villages.

We can see a common source of drinking water like ponds and wells, the stagnant water collected from the roof of some house for the people and their cattle. The cattle that pasture in the same water source thereby become the source of various diseases. Not even the drinking water, proper waste disposal and toilet facilities are also lacking. This poor sanitation and poor hygiene increases the morbidity and mortality rate which make them more and more poor. The Doctors of our town say that about 80% of the patients who visit the hospital suffer the water borne diseases. The majority of people in Nepal live in those areas where numbers of diseases prevails which are the result of absence of basic health education. So the first and foremost need is the prevention program and awareness and then comes the nutrition, sanitation and treatment.  Wee are trying to give them our best and a regular basis but best way to give them is too aware them of various communicable diseases, importance of sanitation and knowledge of health education and referral services.

Health care volunteer in Nepal

our best to mobilize local and international volunteers to work in these communities. Volunteers work at the small health centre and rehabilitation center for the counseling and awareness of the people. We provide volunteering opportunities for medical professionals, medical students and non-medical volunteers to serve in Nepal. Medical students can get works with some community especially in government health centers and hospitals in Nepal. If you have some experience in the area of health care and desire to help the people with flexibility and self motivation, we welcome you. Your small help and effort can make life difference.
