Senior citizen
volunteers or elderly people have full of experience, knowledge
from their life time experiences and they are the resources for
the development of communities. They want to spend their time
by helping others in the society. If you think you are a much
older than the other people to help some one, but your age is
not barrier to full participation in volunteer in Nepal and
enjoyment of the experience of Nepali culture and life.

What past
volunteers have said about Tansen Palpa
The climate and scenery
of Tansen was wonderful. Waking up with
beautiful sunrises to hiking through the
peaceful forest of Shreenagar hill up to the
Himalayas viewpoints, Tansen felt like a
sanctuary from the rest of the world. Definitely
one of the best places for enjoying the outdoors
in Nepal.

Women volunteer
in Nepal
Government of Nepal recommended us for your stay in Nepal.
Volunteers needed in Nepal, we warmly invite intern volunteers
from national and international who has a vision to serve people
of Nepal who are struggling for health care, education and
better life. We believe that doing internships in Nepal will
provide the best way to become aware about your skill and future
career. Teaching English, providing health care, social work
internships are the unique experiences if you serve in the
remote part of Nepal. As a Health care profession or a health
educator intern, you will learn very new experience in this
country if you are coming from developed country. We want to
offer opportunities for those who are interested in experiencing
the various different cultural aspects of rural/small town life
in Nepal. Our vision is to transform lives by volunteering. We
believe that service for humanity is the most worthy and
satisfying life experience. Government of Nepal recommended us
for your stay with us in Nepal
What is Homestay? Homestay in Nepal, an unique
opportunity, invites guests in a private house
to live with Nepali family members. Living with
local people is the best way to learn about
nepali culture in an ethic and eco tourism. The
best way to get to know about Nepal is to be a
part of its daily life with Nepali family with
your homestay program and volunteer work. If you
are currently in a school and need academic
credit through your work experience through
internship program for your graduation then the
Internship in Nepal is a meaningful and exciting
opportunity for your requirement. You’ll do
research and work side by side with local people
as your major and you will experience another
culture like never before in your life. |

See what
past volunteers have said about their experience
Staying with Rescue Mission Nepal has been a
great experience. The landscape is beautiful and Tansen is a
great town. Birkha and Dhana (his wife) are amazing hosts and
worked very hard to make sure I was comfortable. Dhana is an
excellent cook. The church community is very welcoming. There's
plenty of work to do with the disabled children. The disabled
children were the highlight of my stay. I also helped teach
English in a local school (grades 1-12). That was really fun
since the kids and teachers were very happy to have a English
speaking person there.

Meet our past volunteers from around the world
“You are my sister.” This is what Dhana said to me the day I
first met her in Tansen, Nepal. And she, Carina and Birkha at
once made me feel like part of the family and an honored guest
during my homestay. They looked after all my needs from cooking
to laundry to caring for me when I was ill. The volunteer
opportunities I was given through Rescue Mission were carefully
selected to meet local needs while fitting my skills, knowledge
and interests. I was given a glimpse of what life is like for
some Nepali people- difficult struggles contrasted with great
kindness and beauty. When I chose Rescue Mission, my hope was
that, through the grassroots organization, I would be able to
promote change in the community. The reality is, after spending
my time in Tansen with the Birkha’s family and working with the
school children and the families in the Nutrition Program, I was
the one who was changed. I received far more than I gave in the
short amount of time I was there and I will be forever grateful
to Birkha, Dhana and Carina for their guidance, friendship and
love, and I am visiting Tansen again in 2013,.

Director of the mission, many years experienced in the
community. He had served in the United Mission Hospital in Nepal
for a long time and got his internships in volunteering from
different countries including several times in United State of
America, United Kingdom, Canada, and a long time in the home
country. He has done his internship from east coast to west
coast of North America in American mountain of Appalachian and
the snow of the rocky mountains to develop the volunteering
skills and work effectively on the volunteering in Nepal. Now,
he and his team is working on the basis of their experiences in
the home country from long time. We hope that participating with
the Rescue mission, you will also get the same experiences
regarding volunteering in Nepal. |
